Daria is originally from Italy and has lived on Salt Spring for 20 years. She has owned and operated several agricultural businesses and has been an organic inspector since almost the beginning of the organic movement in BC. The CSA model has been a dream for a while, and after a few years of developing the soil at 190 Jasper, the time feels right to open the farm and share the abundance with the neighbours.
Wiet moved to Salt Spring from Holland 6 years ago. Since then she has been growing at home as well as professionally, and she's very excited to take on this new challenge with her friend Daria!
Ronald is from Brazil and this is his third season as an intern at the Quarry Farm. Since 2020 he has been involved with the production of sourdough bread and jar products. He is also in charge of infrastructure in the gardens, like irrigation and greenhouses, that are so crucial to the success of the vegetable program.
Julia is a long time organic farmer and dear friend. She is our precious mentor and newsletter writer. We look forward to our weekly farm walks and shared meals for advice and ideas about the next box.
Brit is the crew's true Salt Springer. She officially joined the Quarry Farm team with the 2020 winter veggie box and in 2021 will also be our administrator and registrar.
